Description

This two day course is designed to assist the water distribution operator in the day to day operation and maintenance of their system. The course will focus on installation, repair, flushing and disinfection of water mains as well as storage facilities. Leak detection methods will be covered as well as hydrant and valve maintenance.

Lectures and hands-on exercises include calculating the required amount of chlorine to shock disinfect storage facilities and water mains as well as developing a Uni-Directional Flushing program. It will also cover a comprehensive look at safety for the distribution operator.

Prerequisites

Course Completion Exam:
At the end of the course a completion exam will be given. It consists of 25 questions. An overall minimum of 70% is needed to achieve a passing grade. If unsuccessful, one rewrite will be allowed.
