Description

This two-day course is designed to assist the wastewater collection operator in the day to day operation and maintenance of their system. The course will focus on lift station components, motors and pumps, O&M of lift stations, supervisory controls, gravity sewer design, sewer main and manhole rehabilitation including trenchless technology, pipe line cleaning, and pipe materials.

Lecture and hands-on exercises will cover day to day operations and items such as calculation of pump performance and efficiency. The course also includes a review and discussion of typical wastewater collection certification questions as well as a comprehensive look at safety for the collection operator.

Prerequisites

Course Completion Exam:
At the end of the course a completion exam will be given. It consists of 25 questions. An overall minimum of 70% is needed to achieve a passing grade. If unsuccessful, one rewrite will be allowed.

No manuals will be forwarded to students in advance of this course – the instructor will provide all material on-site as well as a course completion exam.
