Description
Material in this two-day course will assist operators with math problem solving in preparation to write certification exams (Small Systems, Level I, Level II or III/IV). It was specifically developed to increase your water & wastewater math knowledge and problem solving skills. Includes a focus on important math principles and the support systems used in water and wastewater operations.
NOTE: This course was completely re-developed in late 2016 and approved for new CEUs by Alberta Environment. Math and Support Systems are two components found in the provincial certification exams.
The CEUs from this course can be used toward the following discipline(s) for certification renewal:
• Water treatment
• Water distribution
• Wastewater treatment
• Wastewater collection

Prerequisites
Although not mandatory, it is recommended that participants take the Entry Level Training -or- the Level I Certification Preparation course prior to taking the Math & Support Systems for Operators.

-Support Systems - Introduction, Pumps, Basic Hydraulics, Valves, Basic Electricity, Instrumentation and Controls
-Support Systems Worksheet - questions and answer review
-Basic Pump Components - Split Case Pumps

Inclass: No manuals will be forwarded to students in advance of this course – the instructor will provide all material on-site.
