With many communities facing the impacts of aging infrastructure, climate adaptation, and fiscal restraint operators may be challenged with addressing water system leaks, water conservation, and insufficient budgets that affect their ability to uphold service levels, keep up with water system demands, and find ways to stretch limited financial resources.

The purpose of this one-day course is to inform operators about the fundamentals of water meters, why they are more integral than ever as the "cash registers" for their community, better understand the advances in modern meter technology while learning why and how to embark on the AMR or AMI journey.

Some key topics include:
•Water meter fundamentals
•Program administration
•Advances in technology

In addition to discussing these topics, this workshop includes group break-out exercises and hands-on exercies with meters.
