The presence of iron (Fe) and manganese (Mn) in source water is a common occurrence across North America and requires treatment to remove these elements from our drinking water.

2. The various granular media filter media types available for the removal of iron and manganese:
What filter media types are available on the market. What are the differences? What are the similarities? How do they work?
3. Discussion of iron and manganese removal filter system maintenance including:
• Filter media installation, conditioning, and sampling
• Filter media attrition and life expectancy
• Backwash parameters
• Measuring and trending filter performance
