Description

Learn how to make your municipality more efficient through the use of advanced communications technology that help identify issues system-wide, on your distribution network as well as on the customer side.

• Use analytics to better monitor their systems, proactively address customer problems, complaints, and more.
• Optimize the management and control of municipal assets
• Improve financial performance through reduction of non‐revenue water
• Cultivate an environment of trust and customer service excellence by communicating better with customers
• Solve water issues and proactively alert customers to problems such as water leaks with inline leak detection tools for large diameter mains and inspections.

A smart city is not a far-fetched dream for small to mid-sized communities and municipalities. This workshop will take you through AMI and how to utilize a network and other leak detection tools to provide more insight that will result in better operational and financial control over your assets. You will also learn how to enhance engagement through analytics.

We will cover the basics of an AMI Network, key considerations of improving your financial performance and realizing your non‐revenue water and how to reduce this. We will demonstrate to you how cities have transformed after realizing benefits of AMI and the many diverse equipment and technology solutions that can be managed under the network to deliver data and alerts that are understandable and actionable for utility personnel and customers. You will learn and have some fun with interactive exercises related to your water consumption, monitoring and the power of data.

Leak detection with Pure Technologies: This part of the presentation will focus on Pure Technologies’ inline leak detection options, specifically the free-swimming SmartBall tool and the tethered Sahara technology. For large-diameter mains, inline inspection is the most accurate method for leak detection because it brings the leak detection sensor directly to the source of the leak. This discussion will summarize Pure’s inline leak detection tools, typical inspection requirements, and how they can be a part of a holistic leak detection program.

From the water meter to the technology of a Network to your transmission lines, this interactive session will be more than just a seminar. Each participant will have the opportunity to put the questions to the test and work with others to look at streamlining your water operations to benefit engineering, finance, customer service and the consumers you relay information to and educate on water consumption and leak detection! You will learn not only from this seminar and multiple presenters but also from other participants.
