Description
This workshop will start with a discussion on conventional drives and how they have evolved over the last few decades. We will talk about off the shelf drives, drives & motor concerns and applications. We will also look at the present stage for drives and what we can expect in the future.
There will be some case studies shown on how to do the retrofits and how to interpret the harmonics and the motor testing reports. We will briefly talk about the ANSI C37.96 -2012 standard as well.
When considering the relationship of variable frequency drives (VFDs) with water applications (pumps) and the efficiencies they bring, a measure of success depends on the definition of the word “efficiency.” Often, the actual benefit gained by applying VFDs to these applications is energy savings, not an increase in efficiency. The workshop will discuss these principles in detail.
We believe that this session will be extremely enlightening for the attendees as they will gain some inside knowledge on the VFD applications.
