This workshop provides an overview of the regulatory requirements and the operational considerations associated with hazardous locations in municipal wastewater facilities. The course is intended for engineering, design, plant operation and maintenance personnel who work in waste water collection and treatment facilities.

The learning objectives incorporated into the seminar include:
1-To understand the nature of the hazard associated with the potential for flammable gas hazards in municipal waste water treatment and collection facilities.
2-To know the Alberta Occupational Health and Safety and the Canadian Electrical Code requirements related to hazardous locations.
3-To know how to read and interpret a hazardous area classification drawing
4-To know how to maintain the integrity of a hazardous location
5-To work safely in a designated hazardous location
